Dead bodies found in foundation of church building

Human parts and corpses were reportedly found buried in a foundation of a church building which is still under construction.

The bodies were found on Monday, January 25, in the Ugwuaji Area of Enugu in Nigeria.

A told Naijapicks that some curious villagers raised the alarm, which prompted security agencies to invade the location.

The discovery attracted several passersby and motorists plying the road to the scene. They expressed shock at the discovery and called on security agents to do everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of the act, who they suspected could be ritualists.

Some residents of the neighbourhood alleged that the building, believed to be a proposed place of worship, belonged to a ritualist who disguised to be a man of God.

The State Police spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident told Naijapicks that:

“The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has commenced investigations into the discovery of three decomposing corpses, and also a skull, by its operatives on January 25, 2016 at a bush by Ugwuaji, in Enugu, along the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway with a view to establishing the identity of the corpses, where they were allegedly killed, and the possible suspects, amongst others.”
