Kojo Adu Asare - I’ve not had salary for 8 months, opposition is hell Former MP Kojo Adu Asare

Ex MP for Adenta and Presidential Staffer under the then John Dramani Mahama government, Kojo Adu Asare, says being in opposition has never been easy particularly when there is absolutely no income for him in eight months after losing to the NPP and vacating his office.

Speaking on Joy Fm’s Personality Profile segment on the Drive Time Kojo Adu Asare said though he is not broke, life in government guaranteed a stable income which opposition does not offer.

The NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama lost a humiliating first round election in 2016 and subsequently left office after the NPP led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took over governance. Every appointee in the NDC had to vacate their offices and Mr. Kojo Adu Asare was no exception.

He however said he’s in the process of “resuscitating” some businesses that had been lying ideal during his time in government.

Mr. Adu Asare was one of many NDC government officials invited by the Justice Dzamefe Commission which investigated the disastrous World Cup in Brazil, where an alleged financial misappropriation was said to have taken place.

Mr. Kojo Adu Asare openly wept during his appearance on the Commission which resulted in trolling him on social media.
