The Registrar General Department (RGD) has effectively implemented the online registration of companies, online registration of marriages and issuance of business certificates.

This implies that the online operations of the RGD, which confronted some difficulties at first when it was launched in 2014, is currently completely open for all businesses and individuals on the web.

This enables forthcoming business owners to go on the web and register their potential businesses and issue payments for the registration without visiting to the Registrar General Department in person.

The most amazing part of the system is the completely practical online payment integrated for the payments of registrations.

As at June 2017 more than 6,855 online transactions had been made through the Registrar General Department online system

Another fascinating new element presented by the RGD is the procedures which encourages individuals to request for information with respect to registered businesses in Ghana with the implementation of the e-shop information platform.

It is worth to take note that, as of now the RGD online systems are incorporated with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) with plans to integrate it with Ghana Investment Promotion Center in the trading of information to encourage the simplicity of doing business in Ghana.

The information sharing is to empower a paperless registration and tax administration aimed at significantly reducing managerial and operational overhead expenses as well as eliminate tax frauds.

Doris Ampadu-Ameyaw, Head of IT at the Registrar General Department, indicated that in accordance with the responsibility regarding upgrade and enhance customer experience, the Registrar General Department is in the process of implementing a queue management system at the front office to enhance customer experience.
